Egg Drop Challenge - Iteration #1

Total # of Achievements Earned: 22

3) Post an image of your Egg Drop solution.

- Our first achievements came from our supplies could fit in a cigar box if we crushed the cup, that's 3 ach.
- Our idea weighed less than 50 grams so we got an extra 6 achievements.
- Our first attempt hit the paper so we got 1 achievement.
- Our egg did not crack at all so there is 6 more.
- We used algebra to find the distance the egg falls, geometry using shapes and arithmetic to add the distance of the fall, we got 3 for this.
- Our last four achievements came from brainstorming and generating ideas.

-The other ideas that worked well were the simple ones. Mikes parachute held up well and it was just a piece of paper on top of something. Conners was also a parachute attacked to some mechanism. His mechanism had a cone inside so it made for better cushion.

Improvement?!
-A way that we could have improved our experiment was to add a helium baloon on top of the parachute so that it would have floated down slower and more accurately.

  1. Please show your math if you'd like to earn those achievements! I'm interested to see how you used Algebra. It seems like that might be better suited for calculating something exponential like acceleration rather than distance.

Also, please include any other achievements that have content you can share (brainstorm lists, brainstorm skethces, materials, plans on who's bringing what in, etc.).

Good idea regarding adding a baloon. If it slowed the descent, wouldn't that make the design less accurate? How would the baloon effect weight?
